About Kathie L. Court
Kathie L. Court was born in Marshalltown, Iowa, where both her grandfathers were farmers. Her father’s wanderlust took her family to Florida. She spent her formative years frolicking in the surf of its Atlantic coast beaches. When she was a pre-teen her mother accepted a job in Washington, DC, which Kathie now considers her hometown.

She has a bit of wanderlust herself. As an adult, she lived in Maryland, Minnesota, Kansas, Michigan, Florida, and Nebraska. Over the years, she was a women’s gymnastics teacher, coach, and judge, a software development project manager, and a university assistant professor of business.
She draws on her strength as a researcher to portray her characters’ lives and times authentically. She earned degrees in Physical Education, Business Administration, Human and Organizational Systems, and Sport Psychology. Each area of study further developed her insight into human behavior and motivation.
Her passion for writing historical novels about farming communities allows her to revisit her Midwest roots.
She currently lives in Columbus, Ohio, with her husband and their two cats. When not reading and writing, she spends her time developing garment patterns to sew clothing for her active life.
